Job Description

The Director, Client Services, will be responsible for leading and managing client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and driving strategic initiatives that align with our clients' business objectives – either internally or externally. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in client management, strategic planning, and team leadership. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. They will be responsible for leading accounts in both external and/or internal communications, ensuring a cohesive and consistent message across all platforms for our clients.

The Director, Client Services should be comfortable working with individuals from the C-suite to specialists. The Director, Client Services will have the opportunity to work across integrated accounts, encompassing branding, marketing, video production, and website development

Responsibilities

1. External Communications

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all communications needs.
  • Craft and implement comprehensive communication strategies that enhance clients’ brand reputation and effectively convey their messages to diverse audiences.
  • Ensure consistent and clear messaging across all communication channels, including press releases, internal platforms, social media, and more.
  • Understand clients' business goals, challenges, and needs to provide strategic guidance and innovative solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.

2. Internal Communications

  • Advise clients on best practices for internal communications to enhance employee engagement and foster a positive corporate culture.
  • Develop internal communication materials such as newsletters, announcements, intranet content, and more.
  • Ensure alignment between internal and external communications to maintain a cohesive brand narrative.

3.Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans that align with clients' objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of campaigns, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and manage crisis communications needs.

4. Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of account managers and client service professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Provide regular feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.

5. Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
  • Participate in pitches and presentations to secure new accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the agency's client portfolio.

6. Operational Excellence

  • Ensure efficient and effective internal processes for client service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of services.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resources to optimize profitability.

7. Industry Knowledge and Innovation

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in corporate communications.
  • Advocate for the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance client services.
  • Represent the agency at industry events and conferences.

Required Skills / Experience

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, including both external and internal communications, within an agency setting.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of successfully managing large, complex client accounts.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge in B2B, ESG, DEI, and manufacturing is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.  

Salary Range

  • $115,000 - $135,000
